Ox Stan - The Happy Oxton Ox
Mooo !
For many years I lived a quiet, peaceful and happy life in the wild, overgrown gardens and ruins of Oxton-On-The-Wold Castle, taking occasional strolls out to the village to chat with the locals and becoming a bit of a minor local celebrity.
I was asked to help commemorate The Oxton-On-The-Wold Society's Thirtieth Anniversary a few years back with Special Guest Star billing at the Williamson Art Gallery for a night of glittering celebrations - and to host the sixth annual Oxton-On-The-Wold Art Fair weekend.
I loved being at the Williamson so much I ended up staying for several months, helping to attract visitors and being instrumental in helping to rediscover and explore their very own lost secret garden with local artist Dan James.
There was a small colony of tiny faerie folk living there all the while it had remained undiscovered, for over a hundred years, but they had been trapped there all those years and asked me to help them find a lost portal back to their world. It turned out to be an old painting in the gallery, inscribed with an ancient verse which activated the gateway when they sang it out loud. It was an amazing spectacle to see them reunited at last with their own people.
Since leaving the gallery I've been on tour, visiting and taking up residence in places all around Wirral, while helping out with special community projects and investigating peculiar phenomena and strange goings-on. These places have included Birkenhead Park Pavilion, St Saviour's School and the St James Centre - to name just a few!
I was especially honoured to be welcomed at Mike and Barbara Carr's amazing home for over a year, helping out in their busy lives.
The world is full of wonderful friends I have yet to even meet and my nose is the direction I follow, with a smile to guide me.
